Commendation And Reward Scheme

 

Designed to promote positive behaviour and interpersonal skills; which, in turn, have a positive effect on student learning.

Level 5 – At the beginning of each year every student starts out on Level 5

Level 6 – Student has earned six commendations for positive behaviour and effort.

  • Outcome – Level 6 certificate awarded

  • -Recognition at whole school morning assemble

  • -Recognition in Westy Whisper

  • -Invitation to end of terms 1 & 2 celebration

Level 7 – Student has earned seven additional commendations for continuing positive behaviour and effort.

  • Outcome – Level 7 certificate awarded

  • -Recognition in Westy Whisper

  • -Invitation to end of terms 1 & 2 celebration

Level 8 – Student has earned an additional eight commendations for consistent behaviour and effort.

  • Outcome – Level 8 certificate awarded

  • -Recognition at fortnightly whole school assembly

  • -Recognition in Westy Whisper

  • -Invitation to end to term 3 celebration

  • -Year 5 students become eligible for election to Captain, Prefect and Parliament positions, Sports leader role

Level 9- Student has earned an additional nine commendations, thus showing him/herself to be an outstanding member of the school community.

  • Outcome – Level 9 certificate awarded (Large School Merit Certificate)

  • -         Recognition at fortnightly whole school assembly

  • -         Formal letter of appreciation to parents

  • -         Recognition in Westy Whisper

  • -         Invitation to end of Term 3/4 celebration

Level 10 – Student has earned an additional ten commendations. In doing so they have shown him/herself to be an excellent representative of their family, school and community.

  • Outcome – Level 10 certificate awarded (Large School Merit Certificate)

  • -Recognition at fortnightly whole school assembly

  • -Commendation at an end of year Presentation Day or Assembly

  • -Recognition  in "Westy Whisper"

  • -Invitation to an end of year Principal’s Function (this was a congratulatory breakfast in 2007; a Pizza lunch in 2008; and a yet to be announced treat in 2009)
