About Us

Maximising learning opportunities and outcomes for children in a safe, secure and supportive learning environment.

West Wallsend is a wonderful community focussed public school situated below Mount Sugarloaf and to the west of Lake Macquarie.

We serve the West Wallsend, Estelville, Holmesville and Seahampton areas.

Our school values: participation, personal endeavour and aiming for excellence; teamwork and cooperation; honesty, respect and fairness; responsibility and integrity; staff and student welfare; and community participation. We teach about democracy and follow democratic processes. We also teach our children to care for their own property, the property of others and for each other.

We have excellent, dedicated, caring teachers and friendly, helpful support staff.

Strong working partnerships have been developed between the school staff and the parents and community members.

Our children are encouraged to strive to their best. This is reflected in our school motto, "Strive to Achieve". We  encourage our students to maximise their learning opportunities and so we provide opportunities for performing arts (dance, guitar / band, choir), sport and excursions (extended, overnight excursions for stage 3) as well as ensuring that sound literacy and numeracy foundations are laid.

We are very proud of our school. We are proud of the staff. We are proud of the parents and community members who support us. But most of all, we are proud of our children!
